Toronto Defeated By Cannons, 9-5 | Cincinnati right fielder Mark Boyd contributed significantly to his team's 9-5 win over the Toronto Wolves. Boyd, who is rated as the 2nd best prospect by BNN, went 2 for 5 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cannons. Jack Meeks was the winner. Over 8 innings, he yielded 5 runs on 13 hits, with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts. With the victory, the Cannons upped their record to 79-74.
Had Boyd not come through in the top of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Boyd hit a 2-run single. The Cannons took the lead, 6-4, and never looked back.
"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Boyd told the Cincinnati Herald. | |
