Howe Hits 2 home runs in Foresters Win
The Cleveland Foresters beat the San Francisco Sailors, 11-7, at Golden Gate Stadium. Cleveland center fielder Earl Howe had an outstanding performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Johnny Ogden converted his 29th save in 36 tries. The win for the Foresters lifted their record to 85-67.

In the top of the sixth, Howe put his team in front with his 28th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Hank Lacey, made it 9-7, Cleveland.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Foresters manager Jim Whitehead.
