Kings Need Extra Innings to Top Wolves, 4-2
Fans who congregated at Dominion Stadium were treated to extra-inning drama.

The Kansas City Kings picked up a win at Dominion Stadium, knocking off the Toronto Wolves, 4-2, in 12 innings. Starting pitcher Beau McClellan played a key role in the triumph. Earning the save was Del Lamb. He's now cashed in 14 of 25 save opportunities.

The result might have been different, had it not been for two-time All-Star John Wells. Wells had a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Kings ahead, 3-2. For the game, Wells had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Kansas City skipper Glenn Carney.

With the win, Kansas City upped its record to 86-60.
