| Sailors Mow Down Wranglers, 12-3 | The San Francisco Sailors handed the Dallas Wranglers a sound defeat, 12-3, at Golden Gate Stadium. Ernie Carter was a main contributor to the win. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for San Francisco. San Francisco is now 82-62, while Dallas is 41-103.
Thornhill, Canada-born John Kingsbury came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and the Sailors trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to right to put San Francisco on top.
