| Tucker Pops Two Homers in 11-8 Win for Detroit | The Detroit Dynamos handed the Los Angeles Suns a loss at Wilshire Park. The final score was 11-8. Dick Tucker was one of the major contributors for Detroit. In addition to his 1 single and 2 home runs, he scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Detroit reliever Dave Irwin snagged the win, upping his record to 12-5. Whitey Stewart shouldered the loss. The Dynamos sport a record of 84-49.
Detroit used the timely hitting of Cecil Gregg to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Dynamos on top, 9-8. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It never gets old," said Tucker. "Winning, that is."
