| Wolves Grind Out 2-1 Win | Toronto Wolves starter Arnie Smith turned in an exceptional performance against the Chicago Cougars at Cougars Park, resulting in a Toronto win, 2-1. Picking up the save was Zeke Blake. He's now 13 for 17 in save chances. Their 51-52 record puts the Wolves 7th in the Continental Association.
Tom Reed, who finished 5th in the CA in slugging percentage with .556 in 1959, had a direct impact on the outcome. Reed contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Toronto up, 2-0.
"Arnie's as tough as he is talented," said Toronto manager Randy Hohlt.
