Cannons Suffer 8-6 Home Loss | The Toronto Wolves got a superb performance from shortstop Jesse Taylor, but the Cincinnati Cannons still won the game, 8-6. Taylor went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Jack Meeks, who is tied for 10th in the CA in innings pitched with 142.2, was the winner. He's now 12-8. The loser was George Adams. Wally Hunter got credit for the save for Cincinnati. It was his 2nd of the year.
Cincinnati used a well-timed hit by Charlie Ham to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Cannons ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Cannons manager Buddy Baumgart.
The 7th-place Wolves have lost 4 straight games. | |
