Sailors Score Late to Beat Foresters, 5-4
The San Francisco Sailors outlasted the Cleveland Foresters in an extra-inning thriller.

The San Francisco Sailors stopped the Cleveland Foresters, 5-4, in 15 innings at Golden Gate Stadium. The Sailors got a big game from Edwin Hackberry, who went 5-7 with a home run, a double, and 3 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winner was San Francisco reliever Eddie Whitney, now 1-0. The loser was Tommy Miller.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 15th for San Francisco. That's when 24-year old left fielder Johnny Horton hit a run-scoring double off Tommy Miller to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

Horton said this kind of win gives the team "a buzz."

San Francisco, at 59-41, sits in second place in the Continental Association.
