Sailors Down Foresters, 7-4 | Getting a good performance from second baseman Heinie Spitler, the San Francisco Sailors defeated the Cleveland Foresters, 7-4. Spitler went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Sailors. Oscar Edwards was credited with the save, his 1st in 1 tries. San Francisco raised its record to 58-40 with the win.
With San Francisco leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Spitler hit a sinker from Jack Miller for a 2-run double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Sailors ahead, 6-3.
