The Montreal Saints earned a close win over the Cincinnati Cannons, thanks in part to Jerry Duncan. The Montreal left-hander, who is tied for 9th in the CA in holds with 2, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Hank Myer was credited with the save for Montreal, his 1st of the season. Montreal has now won 5 straight.

Fred Jones had a direct impact on the outcome. Jones contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Montreal up, 2-0.
