| Saints Suffer Blowout Loss to Sailors | The home crowd had a good time watching the Montreal Saints and San Francisco Sailors get after it.
The San Francisco Sailors coasted to a win over the Montreal Saints, 12-1. Ernie Carter had a good day at the plate for San Francisco. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Charlie Lawson earned the win for San Francisco. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 5-2.
John Kingsbury, who finished 4th in the CA in triples with 14 last year, contributed to the San Francisco win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 RBI.
"Not the preferred outcome," Montreal manager Johnny Gilbert said, when asked afterward about the game.
The Sailors are now 20-19.
