| Cannons Drop Wolves, 6-5 | Cincinnati Cannons starter Mickey Mills pitched effectively against the Toronto Wolves at Tice Memorial Stadium II. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 6-5 win. Chuck Murphy was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Lynn Horn. Earning his 3rd save for Cincinnati was Paul Williams.
Tied up with the Wolves in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Cannons got a boost from center fielder Dallas Berry. With a runner on 3rd, Berry saw a 0-2 sinker from Lynn Horn and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Cincinnati on top, 6-5.
"I know we have our doubters," said Toronto manager Jim Whitehead. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
With the victory, the Cannons record stands at 19-29.
