Chiefs Earn Win with Late Rally
Minneapolis got a valiant performance from pitcher Don Hillshire, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chicago Chiefs. Chicago won the game, 6-5. Hillshire threw 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Dutch Lane earned the save, his 3rd, for the Chiefs. Minneapolis drops to 8-7.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Doc Zimmerman to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Chiefs on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a solid team effort," said Zimmerman after the game.
