Foresters Prevail, 3-1, Over Montreal | In a low-scoring contest between the Cleveland Foresters and the Montreal Saints, Les Hanauer, who is tied for 2nd in the CA with a 7.7 K/9 rate, proved to be the difference. The Cleveland right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Foresters win. The winning pitcher was Hanauer, now 4-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 9. The save was credited to Johnny Ogden, his 5th.
Stan Kleminski had a big 2-run double for the Foresters in the bottom of the first inning. With Cleveland leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from Juan Quintana, who is tied for 4th in the CA with a 7.1 K/9 rate, and swatted a double to left. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Foresters ahead, 3-0.
Kleminski attributed the win to "an all-around good team performance."
