2-1 Win for Boston in Extras
The Boston Minutemen used a top-flight performance from Dick Wilson, who is tied for 2nd in the FA with a 1.09 WHIP, to beat the Washington Eagles, 2-1, in 12 innings. Boston reliever Lee Woodward picked up the win to move to 4-0. Wally Phillips suffered the loss. The last-place Eagles have dropped 7 straight games.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Boston. That's when Joe Kleman hit a solo home run off five-time All-Star Wally Phillips to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Boston manager Harry Barrell.
