| Kites Win at Home, 4-2 | The Kinboshi Kites picked up a win at Konohana Stadium, knocking off the Osaka Sailors, 4-2. Starting pitcher Keiji Tamura was a big reason why. The Sailors, now 7-13, continue their sluggish start.
The Kites got a big at-bat from first baseman Sueo Shimabukuro. For the game, Shimabukuro was 1-5 with a home run. In the bottom of the third, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Kinboshi a 1-0 lead.
Osaka manager Heikichi Kawasaki said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
