| Bulls Score Late to Upend Kites, 6-5 | Both teams had their chances, but the Kobe Bulls eventually prevailed.
Kinboshi got a decent performance from pitcher Teruaki Koyama, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kobe Bulls. Kobe won the Matsunoki Stadium contest, 6-5. Koyama threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Kobe reliever Kiyomitsu Wada, who finished 3rd in the WL in saves with 19 in 1959, was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-1. Kannon Kato took the loss for Kinboshi.
Kobe took the lead, 6-5, on Shinsaku Tashiro's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Kinboshi pitcher Kannon Kato in the bottom of the eighth.
Kobe manager Joe Davis was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
Kobe now has a record of 8-10.
