| Cannons Top Stars in Extras, 5-3 | The Cincinnati Cannons withstood a good performance by Los Angeles shortstop Tom Clement to knock off Los Angeles, 5-3, in 10 innings. Clement hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Hal Adams recorded the save, making him 3 for 7. Cincinnati bumps their record to 49-40 with the win.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Tommy Allenby to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Cannons on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said Allenby.
