Cougars Suffer 4-1 Loss to Montreal | The Montreal Saints rode a solid performance from 22-year-old starting pitcher Gene Faulkenberry to a win, beating the Chicago Cougars, 4-1, at Stade Montreal. Montreal now sits at 52-70, while Chicago falls to 71-48.
The Saints got a gift in the bottom of the first inning, when they were leading 2-0. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Bob Vernon reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 2 runs. It made the score 4-0, Montreal.
