Newman Rips 2 Home Runs in 11-10 Kings Triumph
Ken Newman added some punch to the Kansas City offense, helping them outmuscle the Cleveland Foresters, 11-10. In the game, Newman, who finished 3rd in the CA in wins above replacement with 6.9 in 1959, hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3. Tony Britten snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 3.2 innings. He's now 3-1 on the season. The victory gives the Kings a record of 51-36.

Kansas City used the hitting of Al Farmer to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Kings on top, 8-7. For the game, Farmer had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Newman said.
