Keystones Lose, 4-3, as Minutemen Rally | Johnny Duncan, who is tied for 6th in the FA with a 4.5 K/9 rate, had a strong outing for the Boston Minutemen against the Philadelphia Keystones at Minuteman Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. Reliever Jerry York picked up the win. His record improves to 1-3. Joe Hess took the loss. The 5th-place Keystones have lost 4 consecutive games.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 26-year old catcher Sam Walker had a real shot to win the game. Philadelphia pitcher Joe Hess was determined not to let it happen. But with no outs, Walker hit a 2-run single. The Minutemen had a walk-off triumph.
"The most important thing is that we won," Walker said. | |
