| Wranglers Come Up Short at Cincinnati, 2-1 | The Cincinnati Cannons claimed a close win over the Dallas Wranglers, due in large part to Jim York. The Cincinnati left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-1 win. In 7 innings, York surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Paul Williams converted his 15th save in 21 tries.
Cincinnati went up, 2-1, on Joe Case's 28th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Case hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Dallas pitcher Rex Conner shaking his head.
"Jim did a nice job," said Cannons manager Hal Upton.
Dallas now owns a losing streak of 6 games.
