The Philadelphia Keystones claimed a close win over the Pittsburgh Miners, due in large part to Joe Hess. The Philadelphia left-hander pitched a great game to secure the 1-0 win. The save went to Tony Dixon, number 14 for him. After today's action, Philadelphia sits at 69-76; Pittsburgh slips to 77-68.

Bill Del Vecchio broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring walk. It put the Keystones in front, 1-0. For the game, Del Vecchio drew 1 walk in 3 plate appearances.
