Cannons Earn Clutch Win, 3-2 | Cannons fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The Cannons grabbed a win, 3-2, at Tice Memorial Stadium II, overcoming a fine effort from Dallas pitcher Butch Abrams. Abrams went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. Charlie Warren, the winner, improved to 9-10. He held the Wranglers to 2 runs on 6 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4.
Cincinnati got a knockout punch from Babe Booth. The second baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Cincinnati manager Hal Upton.
Dallas's current losing streak is now 4 games. | |
