Woytek Cracks 5 Hits | Players get multi-hit games all the time, but 5-hit ones are a whole lot rarer. It happened at Gotham Stadium when Billy Woytek of New York scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Washington Eagles.
He went 5-for-5 in a career performance to help the Gothams get by the Eagles, 7-4. The second baseman was in a talkative and jovial mood after the game, saying his swing "was really, really there today."
"I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens, good things happen," he said. "You know, like going 5-for-5. I could get used to days like this."
Billy Woytek singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, tripled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.
So far this season, Woytek has 8 home runs and a .294 batting average. | |
