| Sailors Prevail, 3-2, Over Montreal | Starting pitcher Hank Lacey gave the San Francisco Sailors a rock-solid effort. The Indianapolis, Indiana native helped his team defeat the Montreal Saints, 3-2, at Golden Gate Stadium. Lacey yielded 2 runs over 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 4, and struck out 5. His record improves to 7-3. With the win, the Sailors have a record of 42-33.
John Kingsbury, who finished 3rd in the CA in batting average with .335 last year, aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder went 2-3 with a triple and a walk.
"It was just a matter of executing," said San Francisco manager Walt Zecher.
