Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Cleveland Foresters and Los Angeles Stars.

The Cleveland Foresters beat the Los Angeles Stars, 6-5, at Bigsby Stadium. Cleveland catcher Hal Kennedy had the hot bat. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Johnny Ogden was called on to finish, recording his 18th save.

Cleveland used a clutch at-bat from Jerry Hubbs to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Foresters ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Hubbs. "You've got to get results."

Cleveland is now 49-26, 4½ games up in the Continental Association.
