Foresters Nip Sailors, 5-4 | Cleveland left fielder Sherry Doyal helped his team beat the San Francisco Sailors, 5-4. Doyal, who finished 4th in the CA in batting average with .318 in 1957, went 2 for 3 for the Foresters. The win elevated the Foresters to 60-53.
Cleveland took a 5-1 lead on Doyal's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off George Fuller in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Cleveland to the win.
