Foresters Nip Sailors, 5-4
Cleveland left fielder Sherry Doyal helped his team beat the San Francisco Sailors, 5-4. Doyal, who finished 4th in the CA in batting average with .318 in 1957, went 2 for 3 for the Foresters. The win elevated the Foresters to 60-53.

Cleveland took a 5-1 lead on Doyal's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off George Fuller in the bottom of the sixth, propelled Cleveland to the win.

"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Doyal told the Cleveland Times.
