| Cannons Win at Montreal, 4-2 | The Cincinnati Cannons wanted a good start from Jack Meeks -- and he delivered one. The result was a 4-2 Cincinnati win over the Montreal Saints at Stade Montreal. Meeks, now 8-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. The save went to Paul Williams, number 15 for him.
Cincinnati used a clutch at-bat from Bonnie Chapin to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Cannons ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Chapin.
The Cannons go to 40-28, putting them third in the Continental Association.
