Sailors Deal Cougars 7-1 Defeat | Chicago had no answer for 37-year old right-handed pitcher Zane Kelley. The San Francisco Sailors starter stymied Cougars hitters, helping the Sailors cruise to victory, 7-1. The 4th-place Sailors now have a win-loss record of 63-46.
San Francisco used the clutch hitting of Otis Haldeman to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Sailors the lead, 2-1. For the game, Haldeman had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Kelley told the San Francisco Chronicle. "It's as simple as that." | |
