Toronto pitcher Jimmy Gibbs did his part in helping his team beat the Cleveland Foresters, 2-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winner was Gibbs. It could have been a different outcome for Toronto, had it not been for Harry Pomeroy, the 29-year old catcher . Pomeroy contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the second inning to put Toronto up, 2-1.

"Against this team here, fangs out late in the game, it's nice to beat them," said Toronto skipper Jim Whitehead.
