Minutemen Lose as Gothams Stage Late Rally
Led by 22-year-old Earl Howe, the New York Gothams downed the Boston Minutemen, 8-5. Howe went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for New York. Lou Eaker converted his 3rd save in 4 tries. New York, now 74-64, holds down third place in the Federal Association.

Bayonne, New Jersey native Earl Howe had a clutch at-bat in the top of the ninth for the Gothams. With New York trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Howe said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
