Foresters Handed 8-6 Loss by Kings
The Kansas City Kings overcame a pretty good performance by Cleveland center fielder Frenchy Sonntag, beating the Foresters, 8-6, at Forester Stadium. Sonntag went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Kansas City starter Beau McClellan was credited with the win after throwing 130 pitches over 8.1 innings. His record now stands at 7-14. The second-place Foresters dropped to 79-58.

Had Dutch Miller not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Miller hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Kings.

"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Miller.
