Saints Suffer 8-2 Home Loss
Montreal picked up a win at Norris Stadium, bumping off the Dallas Wranglers, 8-2. Pitcher Juan Quintana was a major reason the Saints emerged victorious. The winner was Quintana. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Steve Miller. Montreal has now won 3 in a row.

Don Whited had a big 3-run home run for the Saints in the top of the eighth inning. With Montreal leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from Hank Berkowitz, who led the CA in saves with 23 in 1954, and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Saints on top, 7-1.

"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager Tom Aiello.
