William Davis, who finished 3rd in the FA in wins with 16 in 1961, was locked in. The right-hander led the Philadelphia Keystones to a 4-1 win against the Los Angeles Suns at Wilshire Park. The triumph puts Philadelphia at 62-47 for the season.

Philadelphia used a well-timed hit by Bobby Phelps to capture the win. The left fielder socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Keystones ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Phelps.
