Kings Topple Cannons, 11-5, as Rogers Shines
The Kansas City Kings defeated the Cincinnati Cannons, 11-5, at Prairie Park. Kansas City was led by nine-time All-Star Charlie Rogers, who went 2-2 with 2 doubles and 3 walks, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Henry Henderson, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 9 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 8-3. Kansas City is now 71-34, 5½ games up in the Continental Association.

With Kansas City trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Rogers hit a forkball from Moe Powell for a bases-clearing double. It was his 28th double of the season and put the Kings ahead, 3-1.

"I'm just out there trying to have as much fun as I can while I'm playing," Rogers told the Kansas City Observer.
