| Gothams Win, 3-1, at Los Angeles | The New York Gothams received a superlative performance from starting pitcher Chet Stansbury, allowing them to bump off the Los Angeles Suns, 3-1. Stansbury, now 6-9, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Jack White picked up the save for New York, his 6th of the year.
New York used the hitting of Joe Anderson to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Gothams on top, 2-1. For the game, Anderson had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Stansbury.
The Gothams now own a record of 44-59.
