In a low-scoring contest between the Montreal Saints and the Dallas Wranglers, Bob Nelson, who leads the CA with a 8.1 K/9 rate, proved to be the difference. The Montreal right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Saints win. The Saints, at 42-64, inhabit 8th place in the Continental Association.

Montreal used the timely hitting of Bob Vernon to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Saints on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Nelson.
