| Saints Sunk by Stars | Los Angeles and Montreal duked it out and the Stars came out victorious.
The Los Angeles Stars picked up a win at Bigsby Stadium, dropping the Montreal Saints, 7-4. Dewey Allcock, who is tied for 4th in the CA with a 1.16 WHIP, was the difference-maker. Los Angeles bumps their record to 29-21 with the win.
Charlie Barrell had a big bases-clearing double for the Stars in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Los Angeles leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Jim Montgomery, who led the CA in wins with 20 in 1958, and swatted a double to left. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Stars ahead, 4-0.
"Winning is all that really matters and we got it done today," Barrell told the Los Angeles Gazette.
