Cannons Knock Off New York, 10-6 | The umbrellas came out during the Cincinnati-New York contest at Dyckman Stadium.
The Cincinnati Cannons downed the New York Imperials, 10-6, at Dyckman Stadium. Milt Senecal led the way, going 2-for-3 for Cincinnati. Cincinnati pitcher Jim York got the win, upping his record to 4-4. Jimmy Morris got the loss.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Bonnie Chapin? The 1961 CA batting champion Chapin stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put Cincinnati up, 9-5. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We took home the win," said Chapin. "What's not to like?"
The third-place Cannons have won 6 straight. | |
