| Saints Lose, 7-4, as Sailors Rally | The San Francisco Sailors withstood an impressive performance by Montreal right fielder Harry Swain to defeat the Saints, 7-4, at Stade Montreal. Swain went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times. San Francisco's record now stands at 25-23, placing them 6th in the Continental Association.
San Francisco used the timely hitting of Red Crawford to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sailors on top, 7-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Crawford called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
