| O'Keefe 3-for-3 to Power Saints Offense | Led by Otis O'Keefe, the Montreal Saints defeated the San Francisco Sailors, 7-5. O'Keefe went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the Saints. The defeat makes San Francisco 2-4.
Maurice Carter had a big 2-run home run for the Saints in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Montreal leading 3-2 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a knuckle curve from Lloyd Stevens, who finished 3rd in the FA in wins with 17 in 1948, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Saints on top, 5-2.
"I still think this team can play even better," O'Keefe told the Montreal Gazette.
