The Montreal Saints topped the Toronto Wolves, 7-5, in 18 innings at Dominion Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Montreal pitcher Chuck Droste. With the loss, Toronto is 1-2.

Bob Vernon came through with a big-time hit for Montreal. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the 18th inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Vernon, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
