Kleiman Cruises to Shutout Victory | All went well for Chuck Kleiman of the New York Gothams as he pitched his team to a shutout victory, 6-0, over the Philadelphia Keystones, limiting them to 5 hits. In the postgame interview, both managers had glowing things to say about Kleiman on the day.
"Chuck's got a good selection of pitches he can throw at a guy," said Gothams manager Bert Carlton. "He changes speed, gives different looks to different hitters. When he's on his game, he's quite a handful."
In the contest, the New York right-hander rang up 9 and surrendered 1 walk.
"He didn't give us any second chances," said Keystones manager Don Fox. "It's a guessing game with him and today we were always guessing wrong."
