Tony Britten was nothing short of phenomenal for the Kansas City Kings. The 28-year-old right-hander was a big reason his team beat the Toronto Wolves, 3-1. Britten got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 9 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Kings now own a record of 20-19.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the sixth, with the game tied, Tony Mullis was at the plate when Kansas City scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Kings to go in front, 2-1.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Britten. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
