Schultz Delivers Walk-Off Win for Pioneers | Pioneers fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
The St. Louis Pioneers rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Steve Madden to a win, beating the Chicago Chiefs, 3-0, at Pioneer Field III. The Chiefs, now 21-16, have lost 4 in a row.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for St. Louis. That's when Steve Schultz hit a 3-run home run off 25-year old third baseman Vern Osborne to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"What a buzz," said Schultz after it was over. | |
