Centurions Snatch Late Win
Getting a good performance from second baseman Art Fifield, the Dallas Centurions defeated the Los Angeles Knights, 9-6. Fifield went 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Centurions. The winner was Dallas reliever Mac Watters, now 9-5. The loser was Henry Crayton. The loss makes Los Angeles 44-54.

Dallas used a timely hit from Al Gross to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Centurions ahead, 7-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"If it's down the middle," said Fifield, "you might as well hit it."
