Haynes Delivers Walk-Off Win for Thunderbirds
The Seattle Thunderbirds picked up a win at Thunderbird Park, knocking off the San Francisco Hawks, 5-4. On the mound for Seattle was right-hander George Philips, who played a pivotal role in the win. Seattle, at 31-43, sits in last place in the Great Western League.

The Thunderbirds relied on first baseman Al Haynes for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the ninth, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said San Francisco manager Billy Rose. "But we decided not to take it."
