San Francisco shortstop Steve Summers had a good game, even if his team did not. The Hawks dropped a 6-5 decision to Portland at Porter Stadium. Summers was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Today's win puts Portland at 28-36, while San Francisco falls to 31-32.

The Green Sox were down to their final out when second baseman Marshall Strickland turned a 0-1 fastball from Robby Grand into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Porter Stadium crowd go wild.

"This wasn't a good win," said Strickland. "It was a great win."
