Seattle Thunderbirds starter Oliver Allen was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Houston Bulls, 6-4. Allen, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Scotty Thomas earned the save, his 1st.

Seattle right fielder Frank Lee contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a cutter into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Thunderbirds ahead, 2-0.

"Good win," said Allen. "Maybe some of the whiners in the clubhouse will pipe down for a little while now."
